This is a great first day of school homework assignment. Have students go home and write a narrative on their day. Have them talk about expectations, fears, hopes, what it was like to come back and not see their friends who have graduated, how it felt to be the upper-class, and what they hope to get out of senior year and any emotions and events that happened that day that they want to talk about.
